Grade 10 Reflection
This year I became the Midfielder of SUIS soccer team. We lost most of the soccer players in our soccer team last year.Actually, all of the midfielders left. So I have to play as a midfielder this year. And I've never played as midfielder before. It's a quite big challenge for me.
In the first match of this game, I feel I was a idiot playing as a midfielder. My teammates passed the ball to me over and over and hoping I can do something. However, I disappointed them over and over... It's really crowded in the midfield, I can't dribble past defenders at all. I played wing forward or side back since I started playing soccer, it's really hard for me to forgive dribbling because I enjoy applause I received every time I finished a dribble.
As a midfielder, you need to seek chance to pass the ball to your teammate up in the front first. It's quite hard for me at first. I used to seek chance to shoot when I played as wing player. It no longer works. It took me several matches to learn to see space around me. I heard teammates complaining about how slow I am in the midfielder. I feel really awful sometimes.Recently, it seems easier to get the ball running.
A midfielder also needs to contribute to the defend and learn to communicate with teammates.I can't even remember all my new teammates' name at first. However, I get along with them well gradually. Most of them are kind and friendly. Several are selfish on the pitch just like me one year before. I talked to them a lot about sacrificing for the team. And they are changing now. They start to pass the ball to others when others have a better chance.
Sacrificing for your team, communicating with your team members and cooperate with your team members. I learnt all these this year by playing as a midfielder.
